Who is it for?
Art Therapy is for anyone seeking a gentle or different approach to therapy. It can be great for clients with trauma, or everyday stress. It is useful for folks feeling stuck with psychology sessions but can also be a complementary addition.
What happens in a session?
The therapist will offer and guide you through various creative activities, supporting you to explore themes and feelings as they arise. Or they will support you with specific challenges you bring to the session. The therapist will focus on your emotional safety as they facilitate mental wellbeing.
Do I need any art experience?
No! The art in Art Therapy is all about the process of creating and self-expression, not the outcome.

Tarsh (pronouns: they/them) initially completed undergraduate studies in performing arts and then graduate studies in dramatherapy and psychology. Since graduating in 2019, Tarsh has spent much of their time working with the LGBTQIA+SB community, people with disabilities, and people with complex trauma. Tarsh has also worked as a case manager and a youth worker and enjoys supporting community service and not-for-profit employees, having a good understanding of the daily stressors they navigate. Tarsh finds creative therapies can be particularly useful for folks with Autism, ADHD, or PTSD.
In their therapy practice, Tarsh's work is grounded in expressive arts therapy, and utilizes tenets of Dialectical Behaviour, Acceptance & Commitment, Existential, and Somatic Therapies. Tarsh likes to work on self-esteem and confidence, emotional regulation and mindfulness, making sense of and challenging past narratives, inner-child nourishment, and trauma processing.
Tarsh sees adult clients at their art studio in Perth / Northbridge and works with younger clients on location at high schools and community services.
Tarsh often has their dog, Callie, accompany them at the art studio.
